At ROYAL PACK, we believe that innovation and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand. We are therefore pleased to announce that our plastic security seals will begin to incorporate post-industrial recycled polypropylene (PIR), thereby reducing the use of virgin raw materials and contributing to a more sustainable production model.
However, for us, sustainability only makes sense when it goes hand in hand with the highest standards of quality and safety. Our security seals are designed to deliver high technical performance, where mechanical properties such as tensile strength, torsional stiffness, elongation and dimensional stability are essential to ensuring they function correctly.
For this reason, ROYAL PACK has opted exclusively for post-industrial recycled polypropylene (PIR), sourced from carefully controlled production processes. This type of recycled material maintains much more consistent and uniform characteristics, enabling us to uphold the quality standards demanded by our customers.
By contrast, post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene, whilst representing another equally important recycling route, exhibits greater variability in its composition and mechanical properties due to the diversity of its sources and the recovery processes involved. This variability can affect critical parameters such as strength, torsion, elongation or in-use behaviour, compromising the performance of a highly technical product such as a security seal.
Our decision reflects a clear commitment: to reduce our environmental impact without compromising on the reliability, safety and quality that characterise ROYAL PACK. Furthermore, with the aim of continuing to develop increasingly environmentally friendly solutions, we are also offering our customers the option of incorporating a biodegradation accelerator, thereby reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and providing alternatives that help minimise the environmental impact at the end of the product’s useful life.
Because being sustainable does not mean compromising on performance. It means finding the best solution to protect the planet whilst continuing to offer products that meet the highest quality standards.
